Roger Williams Park

located off Elmwood Ave, Providence, 401-785-9450

Sure, you probably know and go to our fabulous zoo, but what about the park itself? The 435 acres of Roger Williams Park offer a lot of wonderful opportunities to view wildlife, interesting old trees, flowers, and natural areas.

Just next to the Betsey Williams Cottage, you can view a huge 100+ year old London Plane tree (see photo) and start your hike there. Or follow the signs to one of the many outdoor attractions including the Carousel Village and Playground, the Rose Garden, the Temple to Music, and the Botanical Center – a wonderful place to escape the harsh New England winters or anytime.
