Blackstone Park
corner of Rhode Island Ave. and Paterson St., Providence
Blackstone Park and the 1.6-mile Blackstone Boulevard greenway are maintained by the Blackstone Parks Conservancy in partnership with the Providence Parks Department and the Department of Public Works. The 45-acre park contains easy trails and many features that children will love to explore. This is a very popular spot for locals to walk their dogs (often unleashed), so try to go in the middle of the day and be aware of your surroundings. Besides the lush woodlands, ponds, and views of the Seekonk River, there is a giant staircase, conservation areas, and a play- ground. It’s hard to believe you’re within a half mile of bustling Wayland Square!
